Unfortunately all classes for Wandsworth and Putney have been cancelled today due to the snow. All the coaches were down there raring to go before the snow hit. We will try to run drills tomorrow but we will update in the morning regarding this.

Our final tournament of the year is approaching and we are looking forward to seeing who will be our overall winners of the Beginner / Improver, Intermediate and Advanced level divisions.

The Format :

Main Draw - Knockout format with players continuing on throughout the draw until

we end up with the division champions.

Consolation Back Draw - will also be run pooling together those that lost in the first round to run a consolation knockout tournament meaning that everyone will play a minimum of two matches.

Thank you to everyone who attended our first FAMILY CLUB TOURNAMENT DAY on the 26 th September We had a great turn out even though the weather wasn't in our favour. "It was fantastic to see so many of our little guys in action! The levels of excitement were certainly matched by the levels of enthusiasm...it was great to see so many of them there! My congratulations to 'team Fish' and 'team Spaghetti' for all their efforts!!"-Dan's comment on the Tiny Tots and Mini Red Tournaments Although there was some rain we showed our true Lifetime Tennis sturdy all weather spirit and played on as long as we could. Well done especially to the Mini Orange/Reds with Charlie M. taking the title in our super modified speed tennis tournament! The Green group showed an incredible endurance and enthusiasm which wasn't dampened by the rain. A big thank you to all the parents for their fantastic support and encouragement for without them the tournament would not have been posible. INTERCLUB TOURNAMENT Congratulations! To Lifetime Tennis Putney Junior Team that got the first place and Lifetime Tennis Wansdworth Junior Team who got the second place in our first Interclub Tournament with All Star Coaching Wandsworth Common and The Gardens junior clubs. The whole afternoon was played in a very sporting manner and we are looking forward to the other clubs hosting us at their clubs early in the new year.

The Lifetime Team will be hosting a four day Tennis Academy at the Tennis Facility at Atalaya Park 4 Star Hotel. The Hotel Tennis Club has 6 red clay courts and 3 all weather courts are set in the grounds located a 45 minute drive from Malaga airport, between Estepona and Marbella. Enjoy your tennis weekend in the very heart of the Costa del Sol.

The Tennis Academy:

• Day 1 Friday: 2-5pm - Spanish Ground Stroke theme - Perfecting the forehand and backhand
• Day 2 Saturday 2-5pm - Consistency - How to become a Spanish Grinder
• Day 3 Sunday 2-5pm - Serve Return and Volley + Tournament

It is our aim to continue to develop a junior tennis free members clubs with more playing opportunities alongside our regular lessons. Lifetime Tennis Update September Updates

Social Tennis Tournament and Bowls - This Sunday - 29 August 2-3pm Drills £10 3-5pm Tournament £5 Drills + Tournament + Bowls £12 For anyone staying in London this long weekend we are having a social tennis competition afternoon followed by Drinks and Lawn Bowls. Bring a few friends along and cross your fingers for good weather! Please email admin@lifetimetennis.co.uk if you will be attending so that we can keep track of numbers. Future Social Club Plans We have reached an agreement with Wandsworth council meaning that we will manage the Putney and Wandsworth until the end of 2012. As a result we can now appoint Pia our Adult Social Tennis coordinator and she will be working towards developing a Social Tennis Members Club for 2011 season. She will also be planning our full social calendar from now thru to the end of 2011. Ideas we are talking about so far - Club Tournament Weekend (Multiple Divisions), Weekly Club Nights, Club Tennis Ladder, League Teams formed, Wimbledon Tennis Trip (including lining up for tickets as a group of you did this year), winter indoor tennis intensive weekends/workshops, French Open Trips etc etc One event that has come up again and again is an End of Season Spain Tennis Break - This may be possible on 5-8 November 2010. Autumn Adult Tennis Stroke Workshops

We are always searching for new ways to develop playing and learning opportunities. As we are beginning to run out of light in the evenings it can get harder for us to continue to progress your games. However our head coach Luis has come up with an innovative idea for many of you to work on specific areas of your games. Our Autumn Workshop series gives you the chance to sign up to a two hour Sunday morning session with the first hour focusing on stroke technique using controlled drills and the second hour on shot execution under game/matchplay conditions. These workshops will not be listed on the website directly but should be booked in advance through the following links:
